Christmas Day Blaze On Long Island Kills 1

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Detectives in Suffolk County are investigating a fire that took the life of a Selden woman early Christmas morning.

The Selden Fire Department arrived at the St. Joseph's Village Apartment Complex after receiving a 911 call about a fire. Marie Mahoney, 69, was found in her bedroom and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The investigation is continuing but the Suffolk County Police said that the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature.
