Police: Suspect Impersonated Cop Before Sexually Assaulting Teen Boy

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police want to find a sex assault suspect, who they say impersonated a police officer during a Brooklyn incident.

After a 15-year-old boy threw an empty bag of chips on the platform at the 53rd Street and 4th Avenue subway station in Sunset Park, authorities said the suspect approached him while flashing what the victim described as a police shield.

The suspect, who was dressed in civilian clothes, told the victim to come with him. The victim complied and followed the suspect into a white van, which the suspect drove to 92nd Street and Dahlgren Place and sexually assaulted the boy, police said.

The suspect then drove the victim to 38th Street and 4th Avenue and dropped him off.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 45 and 49 years old. Authorities said the man weighs about 145 pounds and has a bald head, grey mustache and a mole under the left side of his lip.

Anyone with information in regards to this sexual assault is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

Sexual preditors should be shot down in the street like rabid dogs. They will always be a danger until they are euthenized.

What a stupid kid! Question authority all the time.

While I TOTALLY agree with you that we should teach young people to ALWAYS question authority, I find your comments about the victim to be extremely tasteless (of course, you are on par with roughly half of the people that usually respond to this “extremely poorly-vetted” news blog).

As sad as any of this is, I find it ironic that they will tell you when it is a Caucasian that caused some type of crime. But, God forbid they were to mention the race of a minority that commits a crime, they cannot and will not mention their race! Hypocrisy……

Yes this young man should have known better–he could have easily protected himself from this homosexual pervert!
