A giant Cintas shredder plus a sledgehammer and dumpster were on hand to help you get out with the old and in with the new year.

Katie Selman of Tampa, Fla. -- winner of Cintas' Good Riddance Day contest -- lead the way by shredding her husband's military deployment papers. She is bidding good riddance to long deployments so her five children could see their father more often.

One man stepped up with two bags of papers and memories of a bad financial year.

"Mortgage, taxes…I just want it out of my life," he told 1010 WINS's Juliet Papa.

One woman shredded away memories of her cheating spouse.

"I feel so good, good things are happening to me," she said.
