L.I. Designer's Bamboo Lamps To Be Featured In 'Twilight' Movie

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The creation of a Long Island resident is set to light up the big screen as part of a Hollywood blockbuster film.

The bamboo lamps made by designer John Pagliaro, of Shelter Island, will be a part of the much-anticipated movie, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn."

Pagliaro told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall that the lamps were made for a home in Miami five years ago before they were brought back up to New York City and placed in a showroom.

That is when movie magic happened and the "Twilight" set designer said "I want those lamps" and bought them for the bedroom scene of the movie, according to Pagliaro, who said he is "really, really excited."

"The whole thing is so crazy because just to think they could have essentially ended up being looked passed. They were already in Miami and they came back to New York and it's like...truth is stranger than fiction type of story," he said.

Pagliaro said he knew when he was designing the two bamboo lamps, they were special.

"What's amazing about this is just the level of saturation. So that like people that I know in London have called me. It's definitely sparked interest in terms of business," he said.
