Mayor Bloomberg On New Year’s Kiss With Lady Gaga: It Was Fun

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Mayor Michael Bloomberg tried not to kiss and tell.

The billionaire mayor and pop superstar Lady Gaga locked lips during the ball drop on New Year’s Eve in the middle of Times Square.

1010 WINS’ Stan Brooks reports

When asked Tuesday about the kiss seen around the world Bloomberg said, “First, Lady Gaga is very charming, she’s a young lady who grew up and went to school here in New York City, she is obviously a great entertainer.”

His honor was not let off the hook that easily.

He admitted to reporters it was “fun” dancing with and kissing Lady Gaga.

“It would be remiss if I didn’t also add to that, that the best kiss of the night came after that from Diana, just so that I could get through tonight,” Bloomberg said.

“Diana” is the mayor’s girlfriend, Diana Taylor.

Bloomberg added that Gaga “couldn’t have been nicer” and posed for pictures with him, his youngest daughter and Taylor.

Gaga helped usher in the New Year at the Crossroads of the World by performing hits off her album “Born This Way” before the big countdown.

Other performers included Pitbull, Justin Bieber, and Carlos Santana.
