Reports: NFL May Fine Jets' Bart Scott For Middle Finger

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The NFL is investigating Bart Scott's obscene single-digit salute in the Jets' locker room Monday, according to multiple reports.

After packing up his belongings, Scott was asked about a report that he likely wouldn't be back in 2012.

"All I know is I've got a guaranteed contract for $4 million," Scott snapped as he was walking out.

"Take a picture of this," he added, while sticking out his middle finger at a newspaper photographer.

A fine reportedly may be issued by the league. In 2010, the Jets fined head coach Rex Ryan $50,000 for flipping fans the bird at an MMA event during Super Bowl week.

Ryan was fined $75,000 by the NFL this season for telling a heckler to "shut the (bleep) up" at MetLife Stadium. That incident, which occurred during halftime of the Jets' 37-16 loss to the New England Patriots, was caught on tape and uploaded to YouTube.
