Suspect Sought In 15 Harlem Burglaries

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is looking for a busy burglar.

The suspect is responsible for breaking into at least 15 stores in the area of 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem between early November and December, police said.

The suspect's MO is apparently to break holes into walls and rooftops of buildings under renovation.

Police said, once inside, he disables surveillance cameras and helps himself to the merchandise and money.

Police were able to obtain video of the suspect during an alleged burglary on Dec. 20.

The first alleged burglary occurred on Nov. 11 and the last was reported on Christmas Eve.

Most of the incident occurred between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m.

The suspect is believed to be between 25- and 30-years-old.

Police said he is about 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds.
