Reports: Giants Extend Perry Fewell Through 2012 Season

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Consider Big Blue "Fewell-ed up."

Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell signed a one-year extension last winter that would keep him under contract through the 2012 season, according to multiple reports.

Fewell, whose deal was thought to be expiring, inked his original two-year contract with New York after the 2009 season.

With the news, an East Rutherford reunion for former defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, fired by the St. Louis Rams this week, appears unlikely.

Fewell was a hot commodity during last offseason's coaching carousel. He was interviewed by the Panthers, Broncos, Browns and Titans but failed to land a top job.

The Giants were ranked No. 27 in total defense this season.

Giants fans: Are you happy with Fewell or would you like to see Spags' return? Sound off below...
