Pedestrian Killed By Amtrak Train In Conn.

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A person is dead after being hit by an Amtrak train in Connecticut.

Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole says the train on the New Haven-Springfield line struck the trespasser Friday morning in Wallingford. None of the 25 passengers or crew was injured.

Service was restored around 1:30 p.m. It had been suspended as police investigated the incident. Amtrak says normal service is expected for the afternoon and evening commute.

You can’t fix stupid, and this person who died was very stupid.

  2. Mark says:

Sorry but I don’t feel sorry for the trespasser he was in total control of his actions and due to poor judgement on his part he paid the price. My sympathies to his family. And my condolences to the train crew as they are the real victims, they were helpless to change the outcome and have to live with the incident forever.

  3. Roger Cotton says:

In this economy there are gonna be a lot more “trespassers”!
