NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police say a driver has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in Brooklyn.

It happened Thursday night in Gerritsen Beach. Police say 49-year-old Ju Xiang Chen, a food delivery man, was on a scooter when he was hit by a Nissan Altima at Gerritsen Avenue and Avenue V.

Police say the driver had gone through a red light. Cops spotted the driver a short distance away and took her into custody.

Chen was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police arrested 18-year-old Kathryn Foris and have charged her with leaving the scene of an accident.
