FBI: Suspect Dressed In UPS Uniform Robs Bank In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The FBI is looking for a suspect they say is wanted for robbing a bank in Queens while dressed as a UPS worker.

Authorities say it happened around 9:40 a.m. Saturday at a Sovereign Bank on 31st Avenue in Jackson Heights. The FBI says the suspect walked into the bank, held a gun to an employee’s back and demanded $20,000 in large bills.

The tellers handed over an unknown amount of cash and the suspect took off on 31st Avenue and then headed north on 75th Street.

Authorities say the suspect was wearing “a seasonal UPS uniform consisting of a brown jacket and brown pants.” They say he was also wearing sunglasses and a red baseball cap and was carrying a silver revolver.

A reward is being offered in the case. Anyone with information should call the FBI at 212-384-1000. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
