Police Release Sketch Of Unidentified Victim In L.I. Serial Killer Case

YAPHANK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police have released a composite sketch of an unidentified victim whose remains were among 11 found along a remote New York beach highway last year.

The sketch released Saturday is of a woman whose partial remains were found along Ocean Parkway in April 2011.

Suffolk County police say other remains of the same person were found separately on Blue Point Beach, Fire Island, in April 1996.

Investigators believe a possible serial killer is responsible for 10 of the bodies.

The remains of the 11th victim -- a 24-year-old woman named Shannan Gilbert -- were found in late December. Authorities say Gilbert accidentally drowned.

Anyone with information on the investigation or the woman's identity is asked to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
