Man Shot In Arm During Police Chase In NJ

ROSELLE, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities in northern New Jersey say a man who led police on a chase while driving a stolen vehicle was shot when he struggled with officers trying to arrest him.

The man, whose name was not disclosed, was shot in the arm. But Union County prosecutors tell The Star-Ledger that his wound was not considered life-threatening.

The chase started in Linden early Sunday and then entered Roselle, where it ended when the car crashed and the man tried to flee on foot. But the struggle ensued when he was captured a short time later.

No charges had been filed as of late Sunday afternoon, and further details on the shooting were not disclosed. It will be investigated by the prosecutor's office, which is standard policy in police-involved shootings.
