Police Search For Bronx Groping Suspect

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying and finding a man wanted for forcible touching.

Police said the victim, a 25-year-old woman, was walking up the stairs to the downtown "D" subway train platform at East Kingsbridge Road and Grand Concourse when she was approached from behind by the suspect.

The man allegedly lifted her dress and touched her rear end before running back down the stairs.

Police say the groping happened on December 14 around 7:30 p.m.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic man between the ages of 25 and 30, standing 6'0" and dressed in an oversized, navy blue bubble-style coat, faded blue jeans, and a dark-colored do-rag beneath a Russian-style fur hat with brown fur trimming.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted to the Crime stoppers website or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
