That relative works for the Uniondale school district.

Shamberger is then accused of writing down the routing and account number on the check and, for seven months, used his home computer to purchase items online from a number of stores using the stolen check information.

Police say in the end he bought nearly $37,000 worth of items.

The money came of the Uniondale school district's payroll account.

Authorities told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall that Shamberger and the school district employee lived together.

The employee is said to have had no idea what was going on and has not been charged with a crime.
