What An En-D'oh-sement: Homer Simpson Wants Chris Christie To Run For President

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has picked up the support of one Springfield resident.

Homer Simpson.

In the episode of Fox's "The Simpsons" that ran this weekend, Homer becomes a political pundit with his own bombastic television show.

Simpson is later asked by his wealthy boss Mr. Burns which Republican candidate for president he likes.

"I don't know," he says. "Can't we get Chris Christie to run?"

"I don't think so," replies Mr. Burns.

Burns then gestures and points to a "Simpson-ized" version of Chris Christie. He's shown as being substantially overweight, with scattered remains of food around him, as he wolfs down a drumstick and chokes on it.

As he chokes, he says "Save me, Obamacare."

What do you make of the Simpsons' characterization of Christie? Sound off in our comments section.
