Police received a call at about 9:25 a.m. Thursday that the man had fallen in an upstairs bathroom in a home at 40 Railroad Avenue.

When police and rescue personnel arrived at the scene, a Suffolk County police spokeswoman said the Center Moriches home was overrun with debris and other items making it difficult for them to reach the man.

After clearing the items, rescuers cut out a window on the second floor and lowered the main out of the home on a stretcher.

The condition of the man is unknown, however, officials said he was conscious throughout the rescue operation.
