Paul McCartney's Wife, Nancy Shevell, Quits MTA Board

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Paul McCartney's wife is quitting her day job.

Nancy Shevell officially stepped down from the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on Wednesday.

Though her term expired last year, Shevell had decided to stay on pending a new appointment by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Shevell was one of the board's longest-serving members; she held the post since 2001.

Shevell did not give a reason for her resignation but it's been reported that she plans on living in London with her Beatle husband.

Shevell and McCartney tied the knot last October.
