WASHINGTON (AP) — Tia Magee scored 21 points and No. 20 Georgetown held No. 11 Rutgers to a season-low 36 points in a 54-36 win Sunday.

Sugar Rodgers added 19 points for the Hoyas (17-5, 6-3 Big East). Magee and Rodgers added five steals apiece as Rutgers committed 22 turnovers. Rubylee Wright finished with five assists to set a new all-time Georgetown assist record at 472.

Georgetown led by nine at intermission and Magee’s steal and layup capped a 7-0 run to open the second half. The Hoyas extended the lead to as many as 27 late in the game.

April Sykes led Rutgers (17-4, 6-2) with 13 points.

The Scarlet Knights shot just 30.8 percent (16 of 52) and missed all 14 3-point attempts.

Rutgers lost second leading scorer Khadijah Rushdan (13.1 ppg) with 5:33 left in the first half. The Scarlet Knights were trailing by eight when Rushdan and Magee jumped for a pass. Rushdan fell, hitting the back of her head on the court.

She remained down through the ensuing timeout and was eventually helped off the court in a wheelchair. She didn’t return to the game, but was on the Rutgers bench for the second half.

Rutgers coach C. Vivian Stringer said Rushdan will be examined further when the team gets home. Her status for Tuesday’s game against No. 2 Notre Dame is uncertain.

The Scarlet Knights led 8-4 early, but then went seven minutes without a basket. Georgetown took advantage with a 12-0 run capped by a pair of Rodgers’ 3-pointers. The Hoyas pushed the margin to as many as 10 and led 26-17 at the break.

Rutgers made just 8 of 27 shots in the half.

Georgetown was outrebounded 42-33 but limited Rutgers to just seven second-chance points.

The Hoyas turned the ball over 11 times, one above their season low.
