NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police say a Morningside Heights man is under arrest for carjacking a minivan in the Bronx with a 3-year-old boy still inside the vehicle.

Police arrested 58-year-old Joseph Fuscaldo on Monday.

Investigators say the Fuscaldo jumped into a Honda Odyssey in the Fordham section while the boy was still in his car seat.

Police found the boy 45 minutes later in the minivan just blocks away. He was reunited with his mother at the hospital. The boy’s mother broke her leg trying to stop the van. The boy wasn’t hurt.

Fuscaldo faces numerous charges including robbery, assault and kidnapping.
