POMPTON PLAINS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Residents at Cedar Crest Retirement Community are giving the New York Giants a senior Super Bowl shout-out.

The rapping retirees, ages 74 to 91, have spent decades supporting Big Blue.

“I’m not a rapper and I do not see this as a second career,” resident Rob Evans joked.

“I can’t carry a note in a bucket, so that was different,” Tony diFilippo told CBS 2’s Hazel Sanchez.

The seniors recorded a rap video in honor of the Super Bowl-bound Giants. It was the idea of the community’s TV coordinator, Larry Curran.

“We have people here who saw the Great Depression and Prohibition and just to be able to be a part of this for a life-long Giants fan, to be able to be a part of this, it’s something special,” Curran said.

“I personally am a classical music person, but now I can change it to 91 and 3 quarters to a rap star,” resident Ed Thom said.

The group is already practicing their dance moves, expecting their video and lip-synching to go viral.

“It’s going to go way out, into space!” resident Margaret Bychek said.
