NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Like Lady Gaga? In the mood for some Italian food?

Why not combine the two and make a reservation at Joanne’s Trattoria.

The West 68th Street restaurant, which opened Wednesday night, is owned by the singer’s parents – Cynthia and Joe Germanotta.

The restaurant is named after Lady Gaga’s aunt, a painter and poet, who died of Lupus at 19.

Lady Gaga credits her aunt with inspiring her to be an artist.

The restaurant will feature dishes Lady Gaga grew up on – including Six-Layer Lasagna, Papa Joe’s Chicken, and Joanne’s Meatballs and Spaghetti with Sunday Gravy.

Art Smith, who used to be Oprah Winfrey’s private chef, will be running the kitchen.

(2) Lady Gaga herself has NOTHING to do with this restaurant. Her parents own it and somebody else cooks the food.

(3) I can download a recipe and make it at home for $1 or less per serving.

They should have pocketed the money their daughter gave them for this sure to be mediocre restaurant at best. Every star has their life expectancy, and she really doesn’t have longevity as far as my opinion goes.

And just because they are Lady Gaga’s parents we should care? People open new restaurants all the time and 9 out of 10 fail. If the chef is famous, then this will be a very expensive restaurant and only the lucky ones will be able to afford it or get a reservation because it’s associated with Lady Gaga. There are plenty of Italian restaurants in NY, so big deal!
