Giants Kicker Lawrence Tynes Is Ready To Shine
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- They're the unsung heroes often hiding on the sideline and in the shadow of superstars.
1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg sat down earlier this week with the Giants' golden-footed kicker Lawrence Tynes before the big game.
His two game-winning field goals sent Big Blue to its two Super Bowls against New England.

"When I cross that white line on our sideline I go into my own little quiet world," Tynes said. "People always ask, 'How do you do it?' Well, I think just training. When I get into the game I'm really in a relaxed state of mind."
The Patriots have won the big game twice on the leg of a kicker and Tynes knows it could come down to him.
"You always have to be prepared," Tynes said. "Two high-flying offensives, two teams that are playing really good defense…you have to be ready."
Tynes shies away from the spotlight but if called upon in the big game he says he's ready to shine.
"I just like to do my job and help out these guys," Tynes said.
