Middle School Student Allegedly Sells Pot Brownies In Queens

NEW YORK (AP) -- Students at a New York City middle school are facing discipline after an eighth grader reportedly sold marijuana-laced brownies to about 20 fellow pupils.

The incident happened at Intermediate School 208 in Bellerose, a suburban section of Queens.

The Daily News reports that a girl was selling the brownies for $3 each out of her backpack. Nobody got sick, but a student complained to a school official Monday.

Department of Education spokeswoman Margie Feinberg called the incident "troubling" and said children who knowingly ate the brownies will have to face a disciplinary hearing.

Police were brought in and discovered a small bag of marijuana in a school bathroom, but no one has been arrested.
