Police: Livery Cab Driver Robbed At Knifepoint In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The hunt is on for a robbery suspect who allegedly took off with a livery cab driver's car after threatening him with a knife in the Bronx.
Around 5 a.m. last Friday, police said the 59-year-old driver picked up the suspect who asked to be taken to Westchester and Bryant Avenue.
When they arrived at their destination, police said the suspect took out a knife, demanded the driver's money and then told him to get out of the car.
The driver complied and the suspect fled in the vehicle which was found a short time later on Westchester Avenue.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man believed to be in his 40s.
Police said he is about 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds.
No injuries were reported.
