Giants' Jacobs Sorry For Saying Gisele Should 'Shut Up'

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Giants running back Brandon Jacobs admitted on Wednesday that he was wrong to criticize Gisele Bundchen, the famous wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, for her post-Super Bowl rant.

"She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up," Jacobs told reporters during Tuesday's championship rally at MetLife Stadium.

"Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn't have said that," he said on The Doug Gottlieb Show. "It's his wife and I should respect that just as much as anyone else."

Bundchen was caught on camera Sunday defending Brady, after key fourth-quarter drops by Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez all but sealed New England's fate.

"You (have) to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball," Bundchen said. "My husband cannot (bleeping) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."

Jacobs said his "cute" assessment stands.

"No question, (Brady) should take that as a compliment," said Jacobs. "If he finds something wrong with that, then that's his problem."

Was the apology enough? Sound off below...
