From the ashes of New Rochelle's century-old Union Baptist Church comes new life. One year ago, a fire destroyed the building, but not the congregation's spirit.

"We're going to have a benefit banquet and the theme is 'from fire to faith' and it's a time of coming together to celebrate Valentine's Day and what love really means," said Pastor Reginald Hudson.

The event is Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Juliano's Catering located at 700 Main Street in New Rochelle.

The  congregation has an architect and they hope to break ground for a new church this spring.
