NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – An 11-year-old Staten Island girl who sang with her school’s chorus last year at the Academy Awards is back in the spotlight.

Denise Bestman is the star of Target’s new commercial for Adele’s album “21″ which aired during Sunday night’s Grammys.

The commercial features Denise riding in a bus singing Adele’s hit “Rolling in the Deep” until she’s joined by other girls. The song then changes into Adele’s version.

The Staten Island sixth grader says she was so excited when the commercial aired.

“I was watching the Grammys and my mom was actually sleeping and when I saw myself on the TV I woke her up and was like, ‘Mom, mom that’s me on the TV, that’s me on the Grammys,’” she told 1010 WINS’ Mona Rivera.

Target reportedly tracked down Denise from a video of her on YouTube leading the P.S 22 chorus in a version of “Rolling in the Deep.”

Last year, she sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with her chorus at the Oscars. She now goes to Edwin Markham Intermediate School.
