Several Injured, Dozens Displaced In East Village Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Dozens of residents have been displaced after a late night fire in the East Village.

Officials say the blaze broke out around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at 21 East 2nd Street near a New York University dorm. It took almost 140 firefighters nearly two hours to get the fire under control.

The Red Cross is assisting 30 adults and four children who were displaced by the fire.

Three civilians and 11 firefighters suffered minor injuries.

    Its a shame for what happened i have family who lives in the building there is apt was OK but the other apt that where damage they where rob the next day when they started cleaning up the building and putting plywood on the damage apartment but no one knows who did it
