8-Year-Old Boy Shot In Front Of Bronx Bodega

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) —  An 8-year-old boy was shot in the Bronx Tuesday night as he was standing in front of a bodega with a group of people.

The shooting happened at around 8 p.m. outside 1741 Randall Avenue in the Soundview section. The child was shot in the shoulder.

Authorities said a man on a bike pulled up and fired at least one shot into the crowd.

He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made and police still do not know if the boy was the intended target.
