Police: L.I. Robbery Suspects Punched Store Employee Before Stealing Cash, Goods

HEMPSTEAD, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Nassau County say they are looking for three suspects who robbed a store in Hempstead after they beat and tied up an employee.

It happened Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Amy's Boutique on N. Franklin Street.

Police say three men walked in pretending to be customers and forced a female employee to the back of the store. That's when police say they punched her in the face, tied her hands with duct tape and demanded money.

Cops say they then stole cash and merchandise and took off. The employee managed to get help from a nearby business.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
