NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Marty Biron was in net Thursday night for the Rangers.

No, it wasn't Henrik Lundqvist -- but Biron sure played like "The King."

Because of the 3-2 win over Carolina, the Blueshirts maintained their healthy lead atop both the conference and division.

Now from blue to green, as Hal Steinbrenner said Thursday he wants to cut the Yankees' payroll to $189 million by 2014.

Now if only the Mets would UP their payroll to $189 million.
