Autopsy Shows NJ Woman Died From Blunt Trauma, Heart Disease

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Autopsy results show a southern New Jersey woman allegedly killed by her adult daughter was struck in the head by a blunt object.

Ocean County prosecutors tell the Asbury Park Press that 67-year-old Claudette Foster also suffered from heart disease.

They say that health issue and the head injury both led to her death, and she may have been dead for about a week before her body was found Thursday morning in her home at a gated senior community in Lakewood.

Foster's death has been ruled a homicide. Her 45-year-old daughter, Lisa Marie Foster, who had lived with her mother for about 18 months, remained jailed Saturday on $300,000 bail.

Prosecutors believe the two women had an argument that turned physical, leading to Claudette Foster's death.
