B&C Morning Show: Jerry Recco's Thorough Update; Bounties, Mets And More

Jerry Recco began his first update of the morning with audio of some New York Giants players as they met media last night while attending their championship DVD party.  We heard from Eli Manning, Hakeem Nicks and Jason Pierre-Paul who all offered their take on the bounty program in New Orleans.

Reports say Saints GM Mickey Loomis and head coach Sean Payton are not in any trouble with the Saints.  As for Gregg Williams, he met with the league yesterday.

On a lighter NFL note, the Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Stevie Johnson to a 5-year extension worth over $36 million, which meant we got to hear from GM Buddy Nix, who has found himself fantasizing about Johnson lately.  The Giants placed the franchise tag on punter Steve Weatherford, Patriots tagged Wes Welker, Cowboys - Anthony Spencer, Chiefs - Dwayne Bowe and the Colts re-signed Robert Mathis.

Plus, Mets kick off Grapefruit League games, which meant Howie Rose was in the booth calling a 'Not So Amazin' Mets defensive gaffe.  Afterward, Terry Collins talked about Dillon Gee and the need for him to sharpen his offspeed pitch.  Johan Santana will pitch for the Mets this afternoon against the Cardinals. More on the Mets financial situation, former Mets Lenny Dykstra sentenced to three years in the slammer, Yanks lose but new pitcher Michael Pineda looked good, Big East tournament gets underway later today, Syracuse in some more hot water, the Knicks are in Dallas tonight to take on the champion Mavericks, Nets in Miami and the first place Rangers will skate in New Jersey...
