Jerry Recco began his first update of the morning by covering the Peyton Manning story, as all signs point to the Colts releasing the quarterback  instead of paying him the $28 million bonus they would have to pony up if he remained on the roster Thursday.

We also heard about Saints GM Mickey Loomis and head coach Sean Payton taking responsibility for the bounty program in New Orleans, releasing a statement saying that it will never happen again.  Craig praised retired NFLer and former Saint Kyle Turley for his take on the whole ‘Bountygate.’

Last night in Dallas, the Knicks fell to the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks 95-85, despite a valiant comeback that saw them take a one-point lead in the fourth quarter.  We heard from Mike D’Antoni, Jeremy Lin, Tyson Chandler & Amar’e Stoudemire following the loss.

Plus, just as Craig predicted the Nets went to Miami and got pasted by the Heat – losing by 30.  The Rangers skated in New Jersey last night and were handed a 4-1 loss to the Devils, Big East Tournament 1st Round recap, Johan Santana looked good in his two-innings of work in Port St. Luci and Craig took some time to sing the praises of his new favorite basketball analyst, Doris Burke…
