69-Year-Old Woman Struck, Killed In East New York

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have arrested a 34-year-old man who they say was drunk and driving without a license when he allegedly struck and killed a 69-year-old woman in East New York on Wednesday.

Margaret Myers was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital after the accident which occurred at the intersection of Barbey Street and Wortman Avenue shortly before 6:30 p.m.

Police said the driver fled the scene but was followed by a witness who called 911.

Videsh Badal, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident with serious injury, resisting arrest, driving with a suspended license, DWI and driving without a license.
