Ask Asa: Top Consumer Scams

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The Federal Trade Commission says it’s a banner year for imposter scams.

During National Consumer Protection Week, the major agencies that keep watch on scams and schemers gathered to compare notes and also issue some warnings to consumers.

CBS 2 Consumer reporter Asa Aarons has more information on consumer protection agencies, scam complaints and tips on how to protect yourself.

    Hi name is Jessica and this complaint is against Advantage Nissan Westbury for fraudulent, deceptive and misleading warranty protection.In December of 2007 i purchased a Nissan Titan at Advantage. I was sold on a 7 year loan and a seven year 100, 000 mile warranty(over$2,500.00), which Advantage refuses to honor through lies and deceitful practices.I want my truck warranty honored and repaired as agreed to under the warranty terms, I have proof of that bill of sale and agreement in writing. I am asking only that you enforce Advantage Nissan to honor the extended warranty they sold me and not to harm anyone else , my phone number is 516 4244064 please help me
