Police said the situation began when a "hysterical" 28-year-old Rachel Jonyer approached a state trooper conducting a routine traffic stop on the Wantagh Parkway and said her boyfriend was chasing her following a domestic violence incident at their residence.

Troopers found Anderson walking along the Parkway "in an agitated state." He was placed under arrest and gave police permission to search his East Meadow home.

In a secret room authorities found marijuana and a weapons cache, including two grenade launchers, two assault rifles, several thousand rounds of military ammunition and other weapons.

A neighbor, who didn't want to give his name because he's had a run-in with Anderson, was not surprised.

"We saw a couple from the home every once in a while they were doing whacky things outside -- standing in the middle of the street, a lot of trafficking of cars," he told 1010 WINS' Terry Sheridan.

Anderson has been charged with third-degree assault, drug possession and five counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
