Gotham Gossipist: Courtney Love Tell-All Book Pitched To NYC Literary Elite

By Kimberly Rae Miller

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jessica Labrie worked as Courtney Love's personal assistant from 2010-2011, and that was just enough time to whip up a book proposal.

The former assistant-to-the-star is shopping a tell-all book about Courtney Love's drug use, romantic encounters and compulsive behavior, according to gossip site TMZ.  The book, tentatively titled "Get Me a Xanax" is being pitched as "an unprecedented glimpse into the daily life of the chaotic widow of Kurt Cobain, by an innocuous girl who had the extraordinary chance to witness it all."

The proposal includes juicy allegations that Love still abuses drugs regularly, including cocaine, Adderall and Xanax.  This is apparently shocking because Courtney claims that she's been sober for years.

Are you shocked?

Yeah, me neither.

Courtney doesn't seem particularly phased either, telling TMZ that the book is a bunch of hooey, stating that she hasn't used Adderall since November 2010, and adding "I hate cocaine."

The proposal is currently making its rounds to New York Literary agencies, no word as of yet as anyone's picked it up for representation.
