8 People Wounded In Drive-By Shooting In Paterson

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- One person remains in critical condition following a drive-by shooting Tuesday night that left eight people injured in Paterson.

Four men and four women were standing on Governor Street when someone drove by, spraying bullets into the crowd around 10:30 p.m., Lt. Richard Reyes said.

Seven of the victims were treated at the hospital and released.

One person remains in critical condition at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Passaic County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Michael DeMarco said the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
