NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The City wants to make sure March Madness doesn’t keep you from getting home safely.

The Department of Transportation is bringing back its “Safe Rides Home” program, from March through April 3.

It will offer thousands of debit cards and single-ride MetroCards, redeemable for taxi, livery cab and public transit rides for people who celebrate a little too much while watching the NCAA tournament.
