NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – With gas prices on the rise, you definitely want to know what you’re paying.

One bill being proposed in New York would require gas stations to prominently display cash and credit prices on large curbside signs.

Another would limit the cash to credit price spread to 5 percent. Some stations are charging a dollar more for credit purchases.

Some drivers told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs that’s something they can live with.

Others said they prefer one price for cash and credit. One driver says it keeps things simple.

    I Could have sworn that years ago the Federal Government banned charging different prices for using Cash or Credit when purchasing gas?
