NEW YORK(CBS 2) — Every spring roving repair contractors show up at doors in the tri-state area. They offer roof and chimney repairs, among other pieces of handiwork. But the “repairs” are often short-lived and over-priced, costing the consumer even more to repair again down the road.
The phony contractors come in from out-of-town, pretend to work, and leave once they’ve done their damage. CBS 2′s Asa Aarons has some helpful tips for how you can spot and avoid falling victim to these scams.
