NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Six people suffered minor injuries in a three-alarm fire that raged for more than an hour on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

The fast-moving fire broke out at 89 Columbia Street just north of Delancey Street at around 11:15 a.m Wednesday.

The fire started on the 16th floor of a 20 story high-rise, and quickly spread to the 15th and 17th floors. More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene and got the blaze under control at around 12:38 p.m., 1010 WINS reported.

Video shot by Chopper 2 showed firefighters working in several windows across the upper floors amid thick smoke to battle the blaze.

Four firefighters and two civilians were treated at Bellevue Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
