NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — After years of debate, the Food and Drug Administration rejects a call to ban the chemical BPA in food packaging. Even if you are not familiar with the chemical, you probably have had plenty of contact with it in packaged foods. Environmental groups say they have plenty of reseach pointing to possible health risks. CBS 2′s consumer reporter Asa Aarons has more.

We need your help, we purchased a nissan truck and was told the only charges we would incur would be the price of the truck, sales tax and DMV fees. The paperwork included a hidden charge of $1,000 and we were told this was a bank fee. There was no line on the finance forms for this charge and it was included in the price of the truck. The salesman did not mention this, we feel that this was wrong and misleading. We would like other consumers not to get taken. I would appreciate any help you could lend us. Thank you Asa

We brought a new nissan truck from garden city nissan. We were told the only charges we would incurr would be the price of the truck, sales tax and DMV fees. When we went to sign the forms, we were hit with a $1,000 bank fee on 0 down 0 financing. There was no line on the form for this bank fee and it was added to the price of the truck. Is this a legal practice and if not, please get the word out to other innocent consumers. We feel that the salesman was not forthcoming with bank charge. Thank you Asa.
