NYPD Searches For Cigarette And Candy Robbers In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying the three suspects wanted for a commercial burglary in Brooklyn.

Police said the suspects used a power saw to cut the lock of the front roll down gate of Rams beer distributors at 40 Melrose Street.

Once inside, police said the suspects attempted to gain access to the safe, but were deterred by the alarm. Instead, the suspects allegedly fled the scene with stolen cigarettes and candy.

The robbery happened on Monday, March 26 after 1:30 a.m. Police said the suspects were three Black males.

Anyone with information in regards to this burglary is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
