Consumer Reports Readers Rate Wegmans The Best Supermarket In The Nation
YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Consumer Reports subscribers say their biggest peeve at grocery stores is the shortage of open checkouts.
They don't like cluttered aisles, either. Or out-of-stock specials.
The Yonkers-based magazine asked subscribers to rate their grocers and answer questions about their shopping.

The best supermarket in the nation according to the 24,000 shoppers who responded to the survey is Rochester-based Wegmans; the worst, Pathmark.
Trader Joe's, Publix and Fareway also ranked high on the list.
"I'm not crazy about Pathmark, the service isn't good at all," one man told 1010 WINS' Terry Sheridan. "You go in there sometimes there's lines and only one register open."
According to the survey, a third of all shoppers across the nation changed supermarkets in the past year for a number of reasons including price, poor selection, long lines and rudeness.
The magazine said shoppers average 83 grocery trips a year and spend over $5,000 a year.
It advised shoppers to use a store's flyer, coupons and loyalty card, compare unit prices and buy store brands.
