Free Ice Cream: Ben & Jerry's 'Free Cone Day' Returns Tuesday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Tuesday's looking a little brighter all of the sudden.

Ben & Jerry's free cone day is back.

From 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, head to your local Ben & Jerry's for a free ice cream cone, scoop of frozen yogurt or sorbet.

The company recently introduced a line of Greek yogurt which will also be available as part of free cone day. Flavors include Raspberry Fudge Chunk, Banana Peanut Butter, Blueberry Vanilla Graham and Vanilla.

Co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield created Free Cone Day as a "thank you" to the community that supported their business.

"It's not just free ice cream, it's free Ben and Jerry's and that's the difference," spokesman Sean Greenwood told 1010 WINS. "I think people want to come down, they want to hang out because it's a fun thing to do."

The company is celebrating its 34th year.
