Aleger, a father of two, had been walking to the train around 6 a.m. to get to work at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he worked as an medical orderly.

Neighbors expressed shock and told 1010 WINS' reporter Al Jones that Aleger was a "good guy."

"He used to play with my girls, and he's a good, good guy. He loves the children. That's sad to see what happened," Nancy Billet said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
