Home In Deadly Gerritsen Beach Construction Accident To Be Demolished

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Brooklyn home that was the scene of a deadly collapse on Tuesday is now scheduled for demolition.

One worker was killed and four others injured while adding a second story to an old house in Gerritsen Beach.

The project collapsed around 11 a.m. on Frank Court.

Authorities said the crew was setting up ladders to work on the roof when it collapsed.

The buildings department said the additional floor was not properly attached.

Authorities said the construction company had the proper permits.
